Web Based - Travel Reservation Software

Attention Travel Agents and Operators

Do you or your company sell or deal with any of the following: Flights (airline tickets), hotel rooms, car rentals, travel packages, tours, restaurant reservations, attraction or special event tickets, ferries, travel insurance, cruises, public transportation, train tickets, or currency exchange? If you work in the travel industry then that was a pretty redundant question, but why am I asking it? I am not trying to waste your time, in fact I am trying to save you time. I will ask you one more question, and this time it is important. How many different pieces of software do you use to offer your services to you clients? Making multiple searches to find the best deals for your customers is now a thing of the past. There is a new piece of travel reservation software which provides an end to end solution for all types of travel companies: travel agencies, tour operators, inbound, outbound, charter operators, congress organizers and more.

Currently the hottest selling online travel reservation software is called Gilboa by Galor. Galor is one of the older travel agent management system producers. They have been around since 1989 and their travel reservation software is used by 700 clients and over 6000 users in over 22 countries. What makes Galor’s software so special is that it can interface with all of the Global Distribution Systems like Sabre, Amadeus, WorldSpan, and Galileo. It also integrates website and online bookings, comes with financial tools specific to the travel industry, and can handle wholesale, in-house and tailor made bookings.

This article is about informing you that there are other options out there for travel reservation software. There is no longer the need to rely on several systems, which waste valuable time with multiple searches. There is now travel reservation software that works with the GDS’s, and with the private charters and specials that you have worked out directly with other travel companies. You can throw away all your binders because the records you need can be found indexed and researched on your computer. These programs are scalable so that they can work with both small and large travel companies. If you are a small company looking to expand, this is the perfect answer because the software can help in expansion and you won’t have to find new software once your client base grows. If you are a large travel network or company, reducing your travel reservation software to one program is a great way to save time and money.

One piece of travel reservation software means less training and more uniformity no matter what size your business is. A little research today can help your travel business for years to come.

Dynamic Packaging Travel Technology for Today's Travelers

Dynamic Packaging Technology is permanently altering the dimensions with which holidays and tours are created and marketed. Research from Multicom from 2005 predicted that dynamic packaging sales will total £2.4 billion and account for almost 35% of the UK travel market by 2007. Dynamic Packaging Solution Gilboa has been developed by Galor Systems Ltd to provide travel agents and tour operator's user friendly technology to both maintain and grow their position in this rapidly forming business environment.

This revolutionary dynamic packaging software, Gilboa is a definitive response to the demand for a complete integrated software solution for traditional tour operators and also for both internet based and conventional travel agents. The questions still remain though, 'Do consumers even know what “Dynamic Packaging" is?' Do consumers understand the benefits? Do they want it? Indeed do end-users even care about Dynamic Packaging?

The simple answer is that as travel agents incorporate Dynamic Packaging into their booking systems, the benefits, desire and understanding will filter through to the customer, eventually normalizing this form of travel reservation.

With the dramatic increase of online agents, consumers now have infinite options for all aspects of their travel itinerary. With the travel choices being numerous (location, accommodation, transportation, satisfaction), the demand for simplification to help the customers to create a tailored travel package has now emerged. Gilboa offers this ability.

So what exactly is Dynamic Packaging for Travel Agents & Operators? Simply put, Dynamic Packaging is a buzz word for a traveller self booking system that saves time and increases travel agency profits. Travellers rarely see the term "Dynamic Packaging" online, instead it's called "Build Your Own" tour - "Flight + Hotel", etc. In travel agent terms, it allows them to package their own holidays and raises margins and offer a competitive price compared to their direct competitors. You'll rarely see the phrase on a web site. Sites have adopted rather more straightforward descriptions of the technology: Book Together and Save, Build Your Own or Flight + Hotel, etc.

Dynamic Packaging offers exciting new ways for marketing vacation packages on the internet. The time from the idea for a new travel package to generating sales on the internet is a blink of the eye compared to non dynamic packaging methods. In short, dynamic packaging is not an option for travel agencies, it’s an essential technology to remain competitive and maintain market share. Once fully integrated into a travel agency’s system, dynamic packaging becomes a launching pad for new travel destinations, agency growth and customer satisfaction.

Galor is a leading Dynamic Packaging Developer with years of experience, hundreds of customers and an impeccable reputation for quality, innovation and reliability.

Since 2005 technology suppliers have been busy updating their systems to allow tour operators to dynamically package with ease. The majority of tour operator reservation systems now offer comprehensive functionality to allow operators to put together packages that bundle their own contracted inventory with attractive third party products such as “no-frills flights".

What's the customer advantage?
Customers are now not restricted to a set package with compulsory departure dates. And are also likely to benefit from the lower fares which scheduled airlines are prepared to offer as part of a package, but not when sold alone.

Prepare for the customer risk…
As with all package travel- if the customer decides not to travel, a full or even partial refund is unlikely. The agent will buy a hotel room on the customer's behalf very soon after booking, or as soon as credit card payment is confirmed. That makes travel insurance all the more important. Customers should buy and be encouraged to buy insurance together with the booking. This insurance can then also be Dynamically Packaged into the itinerary.

Dynamic Packaging: hot or not?
The travel industry has been touting the benefits of “dynamic packaging" for some time, hailing this as the “killer app" of online travel booking. Consumers have never had so much choice; they now have more flexibility, more visibility of pricing and this puts them firmly in the driving seat.

Travel Agents and Tour Operators can now build and book an entire holiday or trip through one system, selecting the options that best meet their needs on price, dates, convenience, location and of course making any special offers / discounts that may secure that booking. Dynamic packaging allows travel agents to mix and match flights, accommodation, car hire, excursions and more within one packaged booking.

What’s the difference between a forest and a tropical rainforest?

What is a tropical rainforest? How is it different from what we think of as a regular forest?

First of all, a regular forest usually consists of one dominant species of tree – the evergreen forests of colder climates, or the redwood forest of California, for example. A tropical rainforest has many species of trees and plants, and trees of the same species very seldom grow close together. Scientists have counted as many as 300 different species growing in one 2 1/2 acre (one hectare) in a South American rainforest.

While forests are found in all climates and all parts of the world, tropical rainforests are found only in hot, humid climates. They cover less than six percent of the Earth’s land surface. Most are found in areas near the equator such as Central America, South America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. A rainforest often gets more than 100 inches of rain a year, the average humidity is between 77 and 88 percent, and the temperature is usually between 93º F (34º C) and 68º F (20º C).

Probably the most significant difference between a regular forest and a tropical rainforest, and the one that has scientists worried that rainforests might someday totally disappear, is the fact that whereas most of the nutrients of a regular forest are stored in its vegetation, most of a rainforest’s nutrients are stored in the soil. This means that when a regular forest is burned or flooded or cut down, the trees and plants can eventually grow back because of the nutrients in their roots. But in the rainforests, where thousands of years of heavy rain have washed away many of the nutrients in the soil, it is very difficult for vegetation to grow back after it is burned or cut down.

Unlike a regular forest, a tropical rainforest has four very distinct layers based on the types of trees and animals that live there. From the top down, these layers are the emergent, upper canopy, understory, and forest floor.

Emergent trees are 100 to 240 feet tall and are spaced wide apart with straight, smooth trunks and leaves that form umbrella-shaped canopies. The upper canopy consists of trees that are 60 to 130 feet tall. Most of the animals live here.

Most of the trees in the understory, or lower canopy, are about 60 feet tall. Very little light reaches this level, the humidity is always high, and there’s little air movement.

The forest floor is almost totally shaded. As a result, there are very few bushes or herbs, and a person can easily walk through most parts. But you have to be careful where you walk, because the ground is teeming with termites and other insects, earthworms and fungi that feed on the litter that falls to the ground. Approximately 80 percent of all insect species live in tropical rainforests.

How to visit a Wildlife Park

Visiting a Wildlife Park is not that much easy that everyone thinks. Wildlife Park is not like a zoo as in zoo, animals live inside cages but the environment of Wildlife Parks is totally changed. In Wildlife Parks, animals roam freely like they live in jungles without any disturbance. So it is better to take some tips before entering in any Wildlife Park.

Wildlife Park is a place where you will see animals wandering freely here and there. These animals usually don’t do anything wrong to anyone but if you don’t take precautions then they might be dangerous for you. So it is better to take the help from national park members. There are some tips that I can provide to you and I think will definitely help you during your travel.

While travelling to any wildlife National Park in India there are some tips which will help you during your tour.

1. First of all be ready to wear light color clothes like khaki, brown and olive green. These colors are ideal colors to wear in national parks. Sometimes animals might get frightened when they see bright colors.
2. The most important thing you must be aware of. Do not feed any wild animals. These animals are use eat natural food in the forest so by feeding them you are changing their habits.
3. Do not spoil the environment by throwing polythene bags, tetra packs and other such materials. There are two major reasons of not doing this. First this will make the park dirty and second if any animal eat this garbage then it may harm animal. So it is better to take them back with you to be disposed off properly.
4. Keep reasonable distance from all the animals. Approaching too closely will disturb them and it might be harmful for them as well as for you also.
5. Do not wear perfumes or any other strong smelling substances. The animals are sensitive to smell and it may arouse their curiosity.
6. Do not throw anything on animals. Most of the animals are generally shy and tend to hide when they see a human being. So leave them in peace.
7. Always try to visit the park with any trained guide, as he will be well aware by the routes and wildlife.
8. Do not approach bird nests unless with a trained guide who assures you it is safe to do so.
9. Do not take flashlight photos directly into the faces of nocturnal animals, especially those that fly or glide.
10. If you are self-driving then be very careful at dawn and dusk. This is the time when most of the animals are active and visibility is poor. It may be dangerous for you.

By following all this, you can play an important role in the conservation of the park. Always try to give your valuable suggestions and recommendations to the park authorities. If any driver or guide is not behaving properly then you should report against them to the concerned person.

Should I Purchase Travel Insurance? Travel Tips

This is one of those age-old questions with no definitive answer. It’s estimated that 30 percent of Americans purchase travel insurance, which is a drastic increase since 9/11, when less than 10 percent of travelers were insured.

If you’re flying on a $150 ticket to see Aunt Irma in Wisconsin, you probably don’t need travel insurance. But on a trip such as yours, travel insurance can come in handy if something unexpectedly disrupts your trip. Your first step is to compare the cost of the trip versus the cost of the policy.

The most common situations when travel insurance comes in handy are:

• Your flight is canceled
• Your passport and wallet are stolen
• You require medical treatment while abroad
• You need to cancel your trip due to illness
• An unexpected hurricane hits your destination
• Your airline/cruise line/tour company go bankrupt

Reasons NOT to purchase travel insurance are:

• You’re afraid of terrorism
• A hurricane is going to hit your destination (this applies if the storm has already been named by the National Weather Service)
• Your pet is ill
• Your flight is delayed for so long that you want to cancel

One major caveat: Never purchase travel insurance from the same tour operator or cruise line with which you’re traveling. If that company goes out of business, there may not be money to cover your claim. Use a third-party provider (that includes travel agents).

Also, don’t forget about medical insurance. Even if you are covered for basic emergency care overseas, in almost all cases, your current health insurance does NOT cover you to evacuate you and fly you back to the U.S. Something called “Medical Evacuation and Repatriation” insurance comes in handy here. You pay a yearly fee, and if you get sick or injured overseas, the policy will get you treated, stabilized and flown back to the U.S. to the hospital of your choice, not theirs. There are a number of good companies that provide this type of plan, such as MedJet Assist.

Why You Should Travel To Hong Kong For The New Year's Parade

The New Year's parade in Hong Kong is an event not to be missed! The city is dressed up with bright decorations and colorful lights for its biggest celebration of the year, and thousands pour into Hong Kong to take part in the festivities.

Winding along Hong Kong's picturesque waterfront, the New Year's parade is filled with colorful, lavishly decorated floats. Representatives from Hong Kong and countries all over the world sing, dance and play music. The songs of marching bands fill the air along the parade's route as performers in bright costumes prance along the streets.

The forthcoming year (2006) is the Year of the Dog. No matter which zodiac animal is being celebrated for the coming year, there are always plenty of lions and dragons in the parade. Energetic dancers wearing giant lion heads leap in the air as long dragons held aloft by more than twenty people snake past the enthralled parade watchers.

The New Year's parade is the biggest event of Hong Kong's Lunar New Year celebration. Close to 300,000 people attend the parade and millions more watch it on television. In recent years the parade has taken place in the evening, featuring vivid, dazzling light displays.

The Lunar New Year is one of Hong Kong's most important and well-loved holidays. Each year one of twelve different animals is celebrated, according to the Chinese zodiac. Many of the city's towering skyscrapers are decked out in glittering lights for the holiday. Throughout the three-day celebration, dancers in colorful costumes perform lion and dragon dances in the streets, malls and hotel lobbies. Traditionally, people exchange small, red envelopes filled with money as gifts. Flower markets show up all over the city during the holiday, selling plants and flowers with special significance, and stores and restaurants display flowers meant to bring immortality and good luck.

The New Year celebration usually begins anywhere from January 21 to February 19, depending on the year. While the holiday officially lasts fifteen days, in Hong Kong it is celebrated for three days, with the New Year's parade taking place on the first day. January 29, 2006 is the first day of the forthcoming new year.

The day after the New Year's parade a brilliant display of fireworks lights up Hong Kong's famous Victoria Harbour. The fireworks can be viewed from the waterfront or from boats cruising the harbour. On the third day of the celebration a large horse race takes place at the Sha Tin racetrack. This lively race is a favorite for gamblers and horseracing enthusiasts.

It's no wonder why so many travel to discover all that Hong Kong has to offer, with the vibrant fusion of ancient customs and modern day fun at one of the world's biggest Chinese New Year celebrations.

The Self-Catering Spanish Holiday

The idea of vacationing abroad doesn't always bring thoughts of relaxation beside a pristine beach or casually hiking through a mountain range. Vacationers may believe they can only go to another country with a tour group or travel agency. This also presents the problems that arise with traveling on someone else's schedule. Other people decide when you eat or where you visit.

A self-catering Spanish holiday can ease such expectations and offer complete relaxation. These wonderful excursions eliminate the worries of a rigorous, fast-paced schedule. Your self-catering holiday in Spain is the leisurely alternative for those who want to get away on their own schedule.

One of the hottest travel destinations worldwide is the country of Spain. From Barcelona to Madrid, travelers come to enjoy the tremendous art and history. Spain has many self-catering vacation opportunities. Rental villas are currently available throughout the country, and you can choose any location, from a tranquil rustic lodge to an incredibly chic apartment.

Self-catering is self-explanatory. You come and go at your leisure. You can visit the attractions when it is convenient for you. You can enjoy shopping and gourmet cuisine outside the confines of a group arrangement. A self-catering holiday in Spain involves renting a villa or apartment and enjoying the area as a resident. This is the ultimate scenario for the family vacation.

The size of your rental property depends entirely on your travel budget. Standard villas are available for smaller families or intimate groups. Large self-catering facilities are available to accommodate a large number of guests.

Many self-catering villas have panoramic views or personal swimming pools. They come with their own kitchen facilities and living areas. This means that you can cook familiar foods whenever you like.

Travel may seem like an impossible task if you have a member of the family who requires a specialized diet. A self-catering villa provides you with the tools you need to accommodate special needs of all kinds. A facility with a kitchen is also an ideal choice due to the available produce in Spain. Large farmer's markets can be found throughout the country. These are supplied with the freshest produce available.

Self-catering vacations allow children the freedom to play. Excursions can be planned around their exercise and activity needs. Parents are free to relax knowing their children have ample opportunity to explore their rental villa without concerns of strangers.

It is relatively easy to plan a self-catering holiday. The primary task is research. If at all possible, try to plan your vacation as early as possible. The best time is at least six months before you plan to leave. Choose your ideal destination and research the cost of staying there. This will give you the necessary information to plan your trip.

Rental listings can be found across the Internet. You should look at the standard information, such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. You should also see if any rental properties in the area have extra features. What benefits do they offer that aren't available elsewhere? What appliances is the kitchen equipped with?

Narrow your choices down to three and compare them all. You should pick the place that will suit everyone and allow for unforeseen circumstances. For example, if you have a child that has a tendency to be vocal, you should rent a villa that is relatively isolated from other villas. If you aren't generally comfortable in an apartment, you will not likely enjoy apartment life elsewhere. You should consider such important factors before deciding on any lodging.

You should be able to call and speak with a person once you have chosen an ideal candidate for lodging. Ensure there will be people nearby who speak your language. Look elsewhere if you can't locate a contact person for the property. You should have full communication and total understanding with the property owner you will be renting from.

Tokyo's Top Summer Attractions

Summer in Tokyo is hot - there's no way around it. If you look at climate charts they say the average temperature is around 28 - 30 degrees. The thermometer in my office tells a different story! Today it's reading 34 degrees and it's 11:13 am in the morning. There's a way for that mercury to go yet! Why am I telling you this? To make the most of your stay you need to be able to keep your cool and enjoy activities that make the most of this weather, without you and your loved ones getting overly frazzled in the heat. Check our list of top Tokyo summer attractions and pack your sun tan lotion for some outdoor fun.

Yoyogi Park

Yoyogi Park is set in the middle of Tokyo and can be accessed by the central loop line, the Yamanote Line. Get off at Harajuku Station, not Yoyogi Station, for easiest access to the park. This is a cool escape in the heart of the city where you can stroll under the shade of the trees or have a game of frisbee, football, or any other sport that takes your fancy. Next door is the famous Meiji Jingu Shrine so you can take in a bit of culture and Tokyo history as you enjoy the surrounding greenery.

Toshimaen Water and Theme Park

Toshimaen can be found on the Oedo subway line or the Seibu Ikebukuro line. The station name for both lines is Toshimaen Station. The park is divided into different zones. You can choose to play in the water in the Hydro Polis section, or follow the roller coaster route in the Theme Park area. It's up to you. On a hot summer day this is a favorite with Tokyoites and a great way to cool down. Choose from 31 water slides and then enjoy a dip in the wave pool. Just be ready to share your space as this is a popular attraction with tourist and locals alike.

BBQ by the Tama River

On the Meguro line at the south end of Tokyo, get off at Tamagawa Station. Bring with you a portable bbq, whatever you fancy cooking, and don't forget your favorite tipple to wash it down with. As you come out of the station, walk straight and you will see the river ahead of you. Most people set their barbecues up to the left of the big bridge you can see from the road. This is definitely an occasion where you need your suntan lotion - as I found out on a beautiful summer day!

Rooftop Beer Gardens

In the evenings, head up to the roof tops and enjoy a comfortable breeze as you eat a variety of Japanese food and enjoy a drink with your friends. You can often pay one price - the average is 3,500 yen - to have a 2 hour session of all you can eat and drink. The rooftop gardens are usually open from the beginning of July through to the end of August and are a seasonal activity enjoyed by many. This is definitely a summer party with a twist.

Climb Mount Fuji

Finally, if you have ever fancied climbing Mount Fuji, this is the season to do it! There are only around 10 weeks of the year that you are able to climb Fuji. The rest of the year, the official routes are closed. Starting in early July, people start arriving at the 5th level by car, bus, train etc and then make their way to the top on foot. On average this is a 7 hour climb. If you're lucky and get a clear day, the views from the top are just phenomenal.

A riotous holiday may not always be in your best interests

Riots, civil unrest, civil war maybe! The New Year headlines are full of commotion in Pakistan and Kenya and even the odd national strike nearer to home. All are reminders of what can happen unexpectedly on holiday. What can start as a normal holiday break can quickly deteriorate leaving holidaymakers isolated, often helpless and in some cases endangered through no fault of their own.

The term ‘far away places’ normally conjures up visions of palm tree beaches in sultry exotic locations but the true fact is that cheap long haul air travel has opened up the globe as never before. Whilst this is good news for all holiday makers, at the same time it comes with an increasing risk of being mixed up in local strife and disturbances. Whilst the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office will be giving out important travel advice and, in extremis, will have contingency plans in place to extract British nationals should it ever be deemed necessary, as occurred in 2006 in the Lebanon, most of us will have to rely on tour operators and local representatives to look after us when on holiday.

This is where a good travel insurance policy comes into play because when it all starts to go wrong on holiday, you need to have something to fall back on to get you out of trouble. But please be aware that most travel insurance providers will have general exclusion clauses when it comes to civil unrest, disturbances, terrorist acts and war so it does pay to check your policy wording. Generally, medical expenses and medical repatriation will be included within your travel insurance policy but if you want to be covered for all eventualities then you will have to pay an increased premium for this. Thankfully the chances of being caught up in these types of incidents are still very slight, and even when they do strike, they tend to be away from the main tourist destinations.

A little preparation before you depart in noting down the latest advice from the FCO or tour operator is always a wise precaution and, in the event of being caught up, it is still possible to keep abreast of developments when at your holiday destination if you have access to the internet or television and most holiday resorts should have this. Tour operators should also be providing their own advice as will the FCO through its website www.fco.gov.uk. But as the title suggests, whilst you might have a riotous holiday and come back safe and sound, never underestimate that it’s the riot in riotous that can easily catch you out and that’s when it’s time to sit up and take note of what is happening around you.

Traveling With Essential Oils

You have been cooped up inside your house all winter long. Your cabin fever is so high you feel like you are burning up. Spring break is almost here and you can’t wait to get away for a week or two. You have been planing this trip for weeks now and your itinerary is all laid out. Why not let essential oils help you deal with any glitches in your travel plans. They will help in making your vacation go smoothly.

The Excitement Builds: The closer you get to the day of departure the more excited you become. This is especially evident when you have children. Using geranium and lavender essential oils in your child’s bath will help in keeping anxiety levels at a minimum before and during your trip.

The Drive: Travel sickness is a problem many people struggle with. Peppermint oil is excellent for calming an uneasy stomach. Before you leave place a drop of peppermint oil in a warm glass of water with one half teaspoon of honey and sip. This will keep your stomach settled for a long time and can be used for children and adults alike. Another option would be to bring a small bag of sugar cubes. Place a single drop of peppermint oil on each cube. If you start to feel a little nauseous, take one of your sugar cubes and suck on it. A nifty device for your drive is an essential oil car diffuser. These little units plug into your cigarette lighter and work extremely well. A good car diffuser is very inexpensive. Only about 10 to 15 dollars and are well worth the price.

Ginger is another essential oil you should take along for the ride. Although it is better known for treating seasickness, it also works well in alleviating other types of travel sickness. If you do not have a car diffuser yet, you can place a couple of drops on a cotton ball or tissue and place them on the front and rear dashboards. In more extreme cases mix 4 drops ginger with 1 teaspoon carrier oil and rub over your abdomen.

Traffic jams can be very frustrating and set you on edge. Keep you and your passengers cool and calm by placing 1 drop of lavender, eucalyptus or peppermint essential oil on a tissue or cotton ball and putting them on the front and rear dashboards. These oils will sooth your nerves and keep them from fraying. Under these conditions these essential oils will not make you sleepy! You will be able to stay on a more even keel, relaxed yet more aware. With a car diffuser you will not have to use tissue and cotton balls.

Exhaust fumes can cause nausea. If that traffic jam has you choking and gaging place eucalyptus on cotton balls or tissue around the inside of your car. This will help to counteract the smell from the exhaust.

The Flight: Flying presents us with an entirely new set of problems to deal with. The pressurized air is dry and can cause dehydration, swollen feet and ankles, cramps, dry skin and headaches. Then you are always bumping your knees on the seat in front of you.

Before you flight drink a cup of peppermint tea using 1 drop of peppermint oil and a teaspoon of honey in a cup of hot water. This will keep your stomach settled and help to keep it from feeling bloated or extended. Gases in your abdomen tend to expand during flights and peppermint oil will help alleviate these problems.

If you are anxious or nervous about flying you need to take preemptive measures. Before your flight place1 drop of lavender and 1 drop of geranium essential oil on a tissue. Put this tissue in a zip lock bag. When you begin to feel uneasy , pull the tissue out of the bag and take 4 or 5 deep breaths. Now lie back, close your eyes and relax. This will also work should you find yourself becoming irritable during your flight.

Children on long flights can become fidgety and irritable. Have ready a small bottle with 15 drops chamomile in 2 tablespoons of coconut or almond oil. Before things get out of control, massage this mix on their legs and feet. They will soon settle down. You and those around you will have a much more pleasant flight. Plus you will have plenty of this mix left should you need it later during your vacation.

For swollen feet and ankles mix 5 drops lavender or eucalyptus oil into a teaspoon of almond oil. Massage on feet and ankles in an upward motion toward the bottom of the calf. This will work wonders at reducing the swelling.

Are you prone to leg cramps. Have a compress made up before you take flight. Get a clean handkerchief, wet it so it is just damp. Place 5 drops of geranium on the cloth and store in a zip lock bag. When you feel a cramp coming on, take out your compress and place it over the affected area.

If you are over 5' 8" tall your knees are going to bump the seat in front of you. If your knees get bumped and sore use a compress as mentioned above. With this compress however, use 5 drops of lavender essential oil. Rub this compress all over your knees. This will relax the muscles and reduce the bruising from being bumped around.

Your Arrival: Once you reach your destination there are a couple of things you should do to ensure your stay is a pleasant one. Even though there are clean sheets on your bed there are also thousands of dust mites that feed off dead skin cells which we are constantly shedding. A precautionary measure to take especially where young children are concerned. Pull back the bed cloths. Then with a tissue that you have placed a few drops of thyme, lavender and lemongrass, wipe the mattress. Very few microorganisms can escape this combination of essential oils exterminating effects. Another method that works well is to place your blend of thyme, lavender and lemongrass in a spritz bottle with a half once of water. Spray this combination over the bed cloths and allow to dry before climbing into bed for the night.

It is never easy to rest when you are in a strange bed or new environment. The bed isn’t as soft or firm as you are used to. There is a mass of new sounds that you haven’t heard at home. Other hotel guest coming and going. The ice machine at the end of the hall. The elevator whirring up and down and sirens from police cars and ambulances. All these sounds can interrupt your sleep if your not used to them. Use scents that you have been using at home. This will bring about a feeling of familiarity helping you to relax and allowing you a more restful sleep.

Reality Check: All the excitement and fun you have had over the last week or two has come to an end. Now comes the shock of having to return to those classes or your career. Getting back into your routine can be tough. Placing 2 drops each of peppermint and geranium essential oils on a tissue and taking an occasional whiff will help get you over the shock of reality. The peppermint will keep you alert while the geranium will calm your stress levels while you readjust to your routine.

Happy trails!

Online Hotel Room Booking

If you want to get some discount options when you are seeking for hotel rooms, you may need to consider booking it online. There are a lot of websites which can let you book your hotel rooms online. However, not all these websites are the same and you should be very carefully when you are booking.

It is very important that you can cancel your booking in case you need to cancel your trip. It will be even better if you can change the dates. It is always good to be more flexible. You will just waste your money if you cannot cancel your booking if you really need to cancel your trip.

You only make sure that you know the prices. You have to know if the prices stated on the website are per room or not. You will also need to know if there will be any tax associated with booking the hotel room.

In some cases, breakfast will be included when you are booking the hotel rooms. Of course this may vary from hotel to hotel. The time of the year may also affect this. You should make sure if any meal will be included in the hotel package.

It will be a good idea to have some previews of the hotels. To this end you may want to view some photos of the hotels. There are some sites which will have photos of the rooms. You can have a general idea of the hotel before you book it.

The reputation of a hotel can also be very essential. As a result you may want to know if there are any people who have been staying in a particular hotel before. It will be very good if there is some kind of commenting system on the website so that you will know if the hotel is a good one.

It will be a good idea if you can pay with systems like paypal, epassporte and 2CO. It will be a lot safer and protect you against credit card frauds and scams.

It is very common for people to book hotel rooms online. Yet you should try to take the above advices so that you can book your hotel room safely online. And you will certainly have a wonderful trip if you can book the hotel rooms with a very good deal.

A Jamaica Travel Guide

Jamaica has always been a special place since Errol Flynn, Noel Coward, Ian Fleming made it famous over 70 years ago. It has always been the first place people will name when asked about an island in the Caribbean.

In truth Jamaica has it all, which means a Jamaica Vacation or a Jamaica Honeymoon will be something extra special.

Just what makes Jamaica extra special is the real question, and this Jamaica Travel Guide will try to supply some of the answers. There are beaches to die for, mountains, and the most incredible red sunsets anywhere in the world, but that by itself is probably not enough to make you want to take a Jamaica vacation or honeymoon.

There is no doubt it is quite unlike other Caribbean islands close by in that it really does cater for a broad range of tastes. After all where else caters for everything from the idle beach bum to the wealthy, the honeymooner who wants isolation to the partygoer who is looking for an all action resort.

Jamaica, regarded by many as the most beautiful Caribbean Island is the ideal place for a tropical vacation. When you look at the many differing types of people who go on holidays to the Caribbean, they all have different ideas of a perfect tropical vacation. When you look at Jamaica and see lushly covered mountains, waterfalls cascading down onto beautiful white sand beaches, exotic flowers, and activities to suit all. Jamaica is a well developed tourist island, so if you want to play tennis or golf you can, scuba diving isn’t a problem, and if you are a night owl then there is everything from piano bars to limbo shows.

The only area that isn’t well developed is shopping, so husbands and men generally can be relieved to know that Jamaica is not a shoppers paradise – Yet!!

Choosing when to travel to Jamaica is an important part of a Jamaica Travel Guide, and Jamaica really has an idyllic climate so it is a year round tropical vacation destination. The average temperature is 77degrees Fahrenheit in the winter and 82 degrees in the summer. The coastal plains in the north get the benefit of the trade winds that blow from the Atlantic , and then there tends to be a breeze morning and evening caused by cooling and heating of the land.

It rains in May, and from August to October, but to be fair it doesn’t rain every day, and the showers only last a couple of hours maximum.

To make use of any Jamaica Travel Guide you need to know what type of tropical vacation you are planning. Do you intend to travel on your own, or as a couple, or in a group. Jamaica has a huge variety of places to stay , enough things to do to satisfy even the most diverse of tastes. It really doesn’t matter if you are a bunch of college students, honeymooners, or a family there is something for you. Getting married in Jamaica is very affordable, especially if you avoid the peak season from Late December to Late April when accommodation costs are at their maximum.

The type of accommodation you are looking for will be available, unless you must travel at peak season when early booking is essential, but then Jamaica isn’t any different to any other Caribbean Island. Here you will find everything from Casual bed and breakfasts to inns with old world charm. There are super all inclusive resorts to luxury villas, in fact Jamaica has it all and more.

Then there is the small issue of what do you want to see and do. You can easily spend a week sipping pina coladas on a beach or by a pool, lying in a hammock under a palm tree with a good book. On the other hand you could go scuba diving, or river rafting, horse riding, or play golf on world class courses. Jamaica has something for all in the way of attractions and activities to keep you as busy or as idle as you want to be.

This Jamaica Travel Guide can only touch on this tropical vacation destination, but it is obvious that Jamaica is one unique and incredible Caribbean Island.

In general the weather is very hot and steaming in the dead of the summer. We recommend that you wear light clothing. Be sure to have sunglasses, hat and sunblock, as they are essential. Turks And Caicos Luxury Resort On Pine Cay

Why choose the Meridien Club on Pine Cay Turks and Caicos for your Caribbean vacation this year.

A Turks and Caicos Luxury Resort would be a good choice for a Caribbean vacation, and to be more specific the Meridian Club with a reputation for consistently exceeding expectations would be a great choice, especially as it is situated on Pine Cay.

You will realise very quickly that you have indeed booked into a top Turks and Caicos Luxury Resort, when after your six minute flight from Provo in a six seater you are met at Pine Cay airport by the managers themselves. You will be asked about your personal preferences, be given a tour and explanation of how everything works, and what happens about meals at the Meridien Club.

Breakfast and lunch are buffet style, and have their hours when they are available. Breakfast there are lots of fruits, cereals, and pastries, and you can order eggs any way you want them, plus omelettes, French toast, and pancakes, and all deliciously cooked and presented too.

Lunch differs every day, but you can expect pastas, chicken, pork, veal and fish. A great salad bar, and dessert trolley.

You’ll find on a blackboard in the dining room the dinner menu for the evening, which will have four courses, and at lunch you’ll be asked to select the entrée you want at dinner. Incidentally there are choices between four meat and poultry courses, and these are different every day. The food is excellent and even the most bored of buffet eaters will find something to their taste at lunch!!

The Meridien Club has only 25 rooms, very intimate, very self contained, sitting on a white sand beach next to a sea so blue a picture can’t do it any kind of justice, that stretches for over two miles on the tiny private island of Pine Cay that is in itself only one mile wide, two miles long and approximately 800 acres in size.

This is really a luxury resort which is a really quiet getaway with no children at all. The food here is very definitely of the five star variety and the staff are everything you would want staff to be at a luxury resort, unobtrusive, helpful, and appear in front of you almost before they are required, as if they have extra sensory perception. The Meridien Club is not so much a hotel as a Family home, at least that is how the staff make you feel with their incredibly personal service.

As Pine Cay is so small, you might feel it could be overcrowded but with only 12 rooms in the Meridien Club it still seems as if you have the whole island to yourself. Imagine being able to walk a two mile beach and not see anyone else.

Obviously this type of Caribbean Holiday isn’t for everyone, but insofar as a Turks and Caicos Luxury Resort goes, this whole feeling is akin to owning your own private island. For honeymooners, or stressed executives who need to or want to get away from it all this is just paradise. Remember there is no television, no phones, no computers, and no nightlife.

One thing is certain, and that is you will agree that the Meridien Club Pine Cay, Turks and Caicos Islands is very much a five star retreat from the world which you won’t be in a hurry to leave.

For more information about the Turks and Caicos Islands go to http://www.caribbean-vacationspots.com/categories/Turks-and-Caicos-Islands/

How to Plan a Great Family Cruise

Romantic ocean breezes, a midnight walk on deck, dazzling dinners at the Captain's table, and days full of planned activities which the kids will love. These days, cruises are not just for singles, honeymoon couples, or senior citizens. Most major cruise lines have discovered that families are a great market for spectacular and fun cruises, and developed special tour and cruise offerings that cater to family fun. If you are considering a cruise vacation for your family, here are some tips and suggestions that can make your travel experience a wonderful family memory.

1. Include the family in the planning.

A great way to ensure that your children will love the activities that you plan for them is to include their ideas in the planning process. By the time kids are old enough to have opinions; they will enjoy any trip more if they have a hand in the choosing. Gather information about various cruises and destinations that fit into your budget and encourage the children to offer some suggestions. It's a great way to find out that your eight year old is a budding archaeologist with an affinity for the Nile, or your fourteen year old dreams of seeing the Northern Lights. Even if their only input is to suggest the cruise ship with the full theme park on Deck Three, you'll know what's important to them when booking your cruise.

2. Choose a kid-centered cruise.

Most cruise lines allow children. Some cruise lines even specialize in catering to families with children. When you're cruising with a family in tow, it's important to choose a cruise line that designs activities for children. While long, lazy days at sea with nothing to do may be your idea of heaven, your children probably need more stimulation. Besides the activities planned by the cruise line, your children will also have the benefit of the other kids onboard to share the experience with. Any experienced cruise traveler can tell you, half the fun is in the people that you meet on board the ship.

3. Consider how much togetherness you want.

The most attractive family cruise programs feature a well-rounded selection of activities geared to all members of the family. The activities offered are likely to include "family activities" for parents and kids together, as well as a variety of things for kids to do without parents in tow. In addition, there will be activities geared to all age groups, from toddlers to teens - with and without parents. That provides "couple time" for mom and dad, as well as time for each person in the family to pursue their own interests. Look for a family centered cruise that offers the degree of togetherness that's right for your family, and a wide range of activities that everyone can enjoy.

4. Put safety up front.

When choosing a family cruise, ask hard questions about how the cruise line provides for the safety of your children. Are their activity counselors trained to work with children in the age group with which they are working? Is each activity staffed with trained counselors/guides who are certified in first aid and safety? Does the company do thorough background checks on any person who is hired to work with your children? Don't make assumptions - get assurances. The following are some questions that the cruise line should be able to answer:

- How are counselors working with children trained?

- What background checks do you perform for the employees who work with children?

- Do your cruise counselors have first aid and safety training?

- If babysitting is available, what background checks are done for babysitters?

- What safety measures are in use to keep track of children while they are in the care of ship staff?

- Do you require parents to check children in and out of activity areas and activities?

5. Kids' menus, cabins and other practicalities.

Before you make your final decision on a family cruise, look into the availability of any special needs your children may have. If you're booking with a line that caters to children, you can expect them to have a children's menu - but that might not be all you need. If your child needs a special diet because of allergies, religion, health or just overall pickiness, it's important to know that those foods will be available for your child. Likewise, it's important to know the cruise line's policy on adults and children in rooms - some, for instance, require an adult in each room where children are staying, which may mean the entire family sharing a room.

Family cruises are growing in popularity year by year, and why not? They offer an all-inclusive vacation experience that the whole family can enjoy. Shop around for the cruise that offers the best deal for your family, and have a great time.

Why reserving hostels is more secure than ever?

While planning a travel trip to a new place, the first thing that comes to one's mind is looking for a place of accommodation. There are different places, which a person can book beforehand for his/her trip – such as hotels, guesthouses or lodges. However, a place they do not consider is a hostel. This is because people still consider hostels to be a place meant for student travelers under 18 years. And they thought these are places where students have to participate in the daily chores of the youth hostel. However, such is not the case anymore. Modern day hostels provide a host of facilities at very affordable prices and are increasingly being used for spending a family vacation or a romantic getaway.

People also do not prefer staying in hostels because hostel reservation is not as freely accessible on the internet as other types of places to stay. People usually do not rely on making payments online for hostels. However, we have a ready solution to all such problems – you can find the most affordable hostels at the website www.hosteltraveler.com at the click of a mouse! The website provides a list of hostel accommodations across the world – in places such as Europe, America, USA, Canada, Oceania, Middle East, Asia, Africa and many other places. Also, it chunks the hostels from the cheapest to the costliest for you to easily choose from. So, once you have selected the hostel most suitable for you, you can easily make an online payment through your credit card, the transaction for which is completely safe and secure. In addition, you will get the booking confirmation right away.

You need not even worry about providing personal information to them. The website maintains the confidentiality of your data and does not pass it on to third parties. This makes your online hostel reservation much safer than ever before. At the same time, you are able to ensure that you get the most affordable and modern hostels wherever you're planning to travel.

But, before you actually make your reservations from Hostel Traveler, you should thoroughly scan each hostel for many factors such as the location of the place, its distance from the airport or the railway station, the distance from the places you intend to visit, the facilities available, the availability of rooms and lastly, the total tariff rates per night. Once you have settled for a place that fits all these requirements, then you can relax and just start packing for your dream holidays!
